People ask us, “what is the Kiwanis Club of Riverside?”

  • Kiwanis Club of Riverside was chartered in Riverside in 1921.

  • Our Kiwanis Club of Riverside Foundation supports many community programs, for example

  • We’ve awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars in annual scholarships to college-bound high school seniors from Riverside schools.

  • We’ve funded an endowed scholarship for RCC students since 1999.

  • Kiwanis Club of Riverside sponsors an outstanding, award-winning Circle K club at UCR and several local high schools to help students learn about leadership, fellowship and philanthropy. The UCR club raised nearly $2400 for philanthropic projects. They average about 150 community service hours per month.

  • Since 1992, Kiwanis Club of Riverside has supported families at Longfellow elementary school with: Holiday food drives; partners in the “Starting Blocks” programs, for no-cost swim lessons to elementary students from Longfellow and Jefferson schools; tutoring for elementary students on campus; Riverside Art Museum’s “Art to Go” program on campus; playground sports equipment and shoes;  a vegetable garden on campus; painting a multicolor map of the USA on the playground; refurbishing used bicycles as incentives to support students’ perfect attendance and improving grades.

  • Kiwanis Club of Riverside provides financial support and drivers for the Meals on Wheels program helping seniors with nutrition needs and fellowship.

  • Kiwanis Club of Riverside sponsors a high school basketball tournament in December, with entertainment for the fans and game experience for the student-athletes.
